Club desk notes — spring 2026 training & travel

Track nights are picking up again for juniors and seniors. Coaches asked members to bring labelled kit bags, and anyone staging UK races this spring should plan ferry luggage with room for spikes and a spare tent peg bag.

If your household is shifting base near London for work or study between seasons, keep race calendars in mind when booking vans — awkward poles and timing boards do not love last-minute hatchbacks.

Marshals refreshed cone layouts after damp October evenings. Shared storage crates for lights and first-aid kit cut the setup scramble when helpers arrive straight from work.

Through 2024 — Lancashire travel lessons

Championship weekends rewarded early shared lifts and a single labelled crate per athlete. Muddy spikes travelled better in sealed tubs than loose carrier bags.

March 2023 indoor season — packing note

March 2023

Indoor meetings meant fewer layers but longer poles. Members who left kit with relatives in the capital still preferred a booked van slot over improvising on race morning.
